I have had thinning hair for quite sometime. It has always bothered me deeply and affected my self confidence and self esteem. I have had people come up to me and ask me why my hair was so thin and if I had cancer and was on chemo. My feelings were hurt many times but I just kept it to myself.
I read an article in the Glenside News about thinning hair and a place called Images Hair Studio in Jenkintown who had won "Best of Philly" in helping women and men with hair loss. I got up the courage to call and spoke to Gloria Harrelson, Owner of Images about a consultation. I went on a Saturday morning in early October and Gloria took her time with me and weighed the pros and cons with me for each hair technique. I finally settled on a hairpiece and ordered it. I was both excited and terrified at the same time. Although, I hated my hair and the way it made me look, I am more nervous about a change in my appearance and what others will say or think. However, I am getting married in December and didn't want my hair to look the way it did let alone hold a veil.
About a week later I made an appointment to get my hairpiece. Gloria again took her time styling and cutting my hair and I felt like I had been transformed. My fiance, family, friends and co-workers were totally amazed at the change in my appearance and told me not only how good I looked but also how much younger I looked. I had people tell me that they liked my new hair cut and didn't realize I had a hairpiece on because it looked natural. My self confidence has grown by leaps and bounds and I feel totally liberated from the entire product I used to put in my hair to make it thicker even though I knew deep down inside it was to no avail. I have also retired all of the hats I used to wear when I would go out of the house if I didn't fix my hair.
I would recommend (and already have) Images to others who have hair issues and have not taken the plunge yet. I can guarantee you that you will not be sorry.
I thank Gloria for all she did for me in changing my appearance and making my wedding day even more special. I know I won't mind getting my pictures now!
